A Buford man was arrested early Thursday morning after reportedly driving 120 mph on Interstate 985 and driving under the influence.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports that just after 1 a.m., a deputy noticed 22-year-old Leo Francis Hill passing other vehicles at “a high rate of speed” on the northbound side of the interstate near the Lanier Islands Parkway exit.
When Hill passed the patrol vehicle, he was clocked at going 120 mph in a 70 mph zone according to officials.
The deputy initiated a stop and during the course of that stop, the deputy smelt an odor of alcohol coming from Hill.
The deputy also found a THC vape cartridge and a handgun.
Hill was charged with speeding, DUI, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, possession of a schedule I drug, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Hill remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.
