13 roads in Hall County listed on road resurfacing grant application

The Hall County Board of Commissioners Thursday night voted in approval of a road resurfacing grant application that will see seven miles of roads improved across the county.

Approval of the Road Resurfacing List for fiscal year 2025 included resurfacing on portions of 13 different roads in Hall County, coming in at a total predicted grant request of $3,052,436, according to documents provided by the county.

Should the Local Maintenance Improvement Grant be awarded, it would supply approximately $2,174,718 of the resurfacing costs, with the remaining $877,718 coming from FY 2025 SPLOST VIII funding.

With the commissioner’s approval of the improvement list, the application for the grant will now be sent to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Some of the roads included on the list are Price Road, McEver Road, Union Church Road, Old Candler Road and Mundy Mill Road.

According to estimates, the most expensive project would be the improvements seen on a 1.316-mile stretch beginning at Price Road, running along Graham Circle and ending at Gillespie Road. That portion has a predicted cost of $573,776.

Project costs provided by county officials are said to be estimates only, based on a rate of $436,000 per mile of road.
