Hall County School Board appoves of Peach Education Tax Credit

The Hall County School Board approved of a Peach Education Tax Credit at their meeting on Monday night.

Individuals and businesses who donate to public education via the Peach Education Tax Credit can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their Georgia state income taxes liability.

"If a business made $100,000 profit they could actually donate up to $75,000 for the inclusive playground projects that will have within the district it's an incredible way to get more and more boys and girls opportunities within our district, and we're just really excited about it," Superintendent Will Schofield says.

The tax credit is capped at $5 million and is approved on a first-come, first-serve basis.

So far, $3.5 million has already been given out this year.
