A pedestrian was seriously injured after they were struck by a tractor-trailer early Sunday morning on Interstate 85 in Jackson County.
The Georgia State Patrol said troopers responded at about 4:40 a.m. to the scene on I-85 northbound at Mile Marker 132 in Jackson County.
The agency said a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer was reportedly traveling north on the interstate in the right lane when it struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the right lane.
The pedestrian was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with serious injuries.
The agency had not released the pedestrian's name, condition, or the name of the tractor-trailer driver as of Monday morning.
