Gas prices continue to drop locally and statewide

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Georgia's gas price average continues to decline at the pump. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.24 per-gallon for regular unleaded gasoline as of Monday morning.

AAA of Georgia's website shows the state average is six cents less than a week ago, 36 cents less than a month ago, and just seven cents more than at this time last year.

AAA's spokewwoman Montrae Waiters says that Governor Brian Kemp's suspension of Georgia’s state gas tax continues to be the driving force with the lowering gas prices.

Hall County commuters are experiencing  an even lower average price for unleaded regular gas, at $3.12 per-gallon, Hall County is sharing the lowest average in Northeast Georgia with Stephens County.

The nationwide average price for unleaded regular gasoline, as of today, sits at $3.81 per-gallon.
