Another tool to aid commuters with their road travel plans for Thanksgiving is about to become available.
AAA is once again implementing its, "Tow to Go" program for the holiday travel week, allowing commuters to have aid in preventing impaired driving issues. The program is available in Georgia and other select states between Wednesday morning, November 27 at 6:00 A.M. and Monday morning, December 2, at 5:00 A.M..
Montrae Waiters with AAA remind drivers that "Tow to Go" is to be used as a last resort, while accessible to those who need it.
Some of the key guidelines for utilizing "Tow to Go" include:
- A confidential ride for ONE PERSON and their vehicle to a safe location WITHIN A 10-MILE RADIUS of the pickup location.
- Appointments CANNOT be scheduled in advance, as "Tow to Go" is designed as a safety net for those who did not plan ahead. Always select a designated driver before celebrating.
- AAA may need to make other arrangements, in some situations, to provide an impaired person a safe ride home.
- "Tow to Go" may not be available in some rural areas, or during severe weather conditions.
"Tow to Go" is available in Georgia, as well as in the states of Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Colorado (Denver area), North Carolina (Charlotte area), and Indiana (Fort Wayne/South Bend area)
