Boys basketball: Wilbanks leads Chestatee past NHall; Lakeview falls at home; Bluff rolls; WHall rallies past Dawson; Gainesville, EHall fall

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Colton Wilbanks hit the 1,000-point plateau and became Chestatee’s all-time leading rebounder in the War Eagles' 69-38 rout of North Hall on Friday at Lynn Cottrell Court in Region 8-4A North action.

Wilbanks, a junior, poured in 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to pace Chestatee.

The War Eagles (12-7, 6-1 Region 8-4A North) jumped out to a huge 30-9 lead early in the second quarter and never looked back. North Hall (9-10, 3-4 Region 8-4A North) used an 11-2 run to get within 32-20 by halftime, but that’s as close as the Trojans could get.

Chestatee exploded for a 21-8 third quarter to blow the game open. Jarvis Weaver added 17 points, Hugh Pruitt1 had 14 points and 7 rebounds, and 
Josh Bull scored 11 for the War Eagles.

JT Chester paced North Hall with 10 points. Matthew Ray had 9 points, Luke Sanders 8 points, and Cole Hulsey added 7 points and 9 rebounds for the Trojans.


LOGANVILLE CHRISTIAN 51,
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 48

The Lions fell behind by double-digits in the second half, rallied to take the lead, then dropped a heartbreaker at home on Friday in GIAA region action.

Loganville Christian led just 14-13 after the first quarter but built a 31-22 lead at halftime. They extended it until Lakeview rallied to take a 43-39 lead into the fourth quarter.

But the Lions could not hold it as Loganville Christian outscored Lakeview 12-5 in the final period.
Tayden Ware paced Lakeview with 16 points. Jack Collins added 11 points and Justyce Sadler 10 for the Lions.


CHEROKEE BLUFF 89,
JOHNSON 39

Carlos Marlow scored a game-high 33 points and pulled seven rebounds to lead the Bears past Johnson on Friday at home. 

Boston Kersh added 16 points, while Horton and Quirarte had 12 each. 

Bluff (13-7, 6-1) led 20-3 after the first quarter and 43-14 at the half. 


SHILOH 50,
GAINESVILLE 37

Gainesville (11-7, 4-2 Region 8-6A) struggled offensively and on the board in the loss to Shiloh (8-10, 4-2 Region 8-6A) in Snellville on Friday. 

The loss drops the Red Elephants into a three-way tie with North Forsyth and Shiloh. 

Both teams weren't very good offensively all night. The two teams combined for 37 points at the half, with Gainesville holding a slim 20-18 lead at the break. 

In the second half, Big Red scored six points in the third quarter, falling behind 29-26 at the end of the period.

Gainesville tied the game with 4:19 left in the final quarter, 32-32, but allowed the Generals to go on a 10-0 run to grab a 42-32 advantage and the win. 

Charlie Reisman scored 13 points to lead Gainesville, while Dre Raven chipped in 9. Emmanuel Okogie led the Generals with 15 points. 


EAST FORSYTH 68, 
EAST HALL 59

East Forsyth (9-11, 4-3 Region 8-4A) rallied past the Vikings to pick up the Region 8-4A win on Friday at home.

The Vikings (4-17, 1-6 Region 8-4A)) led the first three quarters but allowed the Broncos, behind Brice Bracco, to rally back to grab the win. Bracco finished with a game-high 23 points.

East Hall was led by Jamarcus Harrison with 15 points Cletus Absongoya Had 13, Chasen Jones and Levi Holtzclaw added 11, and Yahir Furjado scored 9.


WEST HALL 66,
DAWSON COUNTY 62

West Hall used a strong second-half output to rally past Dawson County at home on Friday. 

The Tigers sprinted out to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter and led 30-20 at the half. 

But the Spartans outpaced Dawson County 46-32 in the second half to win. 

Owen Jenkins led the Spartans with 17 points, while Andrew Malin netted 16 and pulled 11 rebounds, and Xavier Felix added 10.

Trey Harvey and Joshua Priest led the Tigers with 19 each. Caden Reed had 14, and Ethan Parker added 12.
