Hall County authorities seize $85K in illegal drugs, arrest 3 suspects

The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested three people on Tuesday after they were allegedly found in possession of $85,000 worth of illegal drugs.

According to a press release from the agency, Riley Lena Smith, 22, Dennis Mclearn, 30, and Jayden Richey, 23, were arrested Tuesday afternoon on a series of drug charges. Smith is from Buford while Mclearn and Richey are from Gainesville.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit and Homeland Security Investigations Task Force made the arrests while executing a search warrant at an apartment unit in the 200 block of Foothills Parkway.

Authorities found more than 10 pounds of high-grade marijuana, over 160 fluid ounces of THC oil, two firearms, $61,000 cash and a small quantity of amphetamine pills. The combined estimated street value of the drugs is $85,000, while the marijuana and THC oil were worth $32,000 and $53,000 respectively. 

All three suspects face the same felony charges as follows:

  • Trafficking marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Trafficking THC oil
  • Possession of THC oil with intent to distribute
  • Possession of amphetamine
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

All three suspects remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Wednesday afternoon. The case remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and HSI.
