Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigating apparent murder-suicide

By Austin Eller News Director

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday a man and his daughter are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

According to a press release from the agency, Jerry Frix, 58, and his daughter, Megan Frix, 26, were found dead Sunday at a home on Evans Drive.

Detectives with the agency's Major Crimes Unit have determined the incident was an apparent murder-suicide with the father likely being the suspect.

"The loss of life is especially tragic as the adult daughter had special needs and had lost her mother just a few years before," Sheriff Ron Freeman said in a statement. "There can be no justification for the loss of life, and we need to insure that people know that they can reach out for help by calling 988 and be instantly connected to a crisis counselor.“

The agency is awaiting results from the State Medical Examiners Office as well as additional interviews before making a final ruling on the cause of death and reasons behind the incident.
