No one was injured after two different structure fires in Rabun County left two homes a total loss.

Rabun County Fire Services responded to a house fire call on Friday on Pond View Drive in the Glass Mountain area near Tiger. 911 received a call at 1:45 p.m. and was advised that the house was almost already burned to the ground.

On arrival, crews found a mobile home fully involved with the roof already collapsed and a propane tank at the front of the house venting. The fire also spread to the woods, but officials say it was brought under control in about 30 minutes. About 1/2 of an acre was burned.

HEMC and Tugalo Gas Company were notified. The residence was declared a complete loss and no one was home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Rabun County Fire Services responded to a second call on Sunday on Connector Road off Camp Creek in Wiley.

Rabun County Fire Services were dispatched at 8:42 p.m. after a caller reported hearing explosions. On arrival, responders found a double-wide mobile home almost fully involved in flames, accompanied by three vehicles in the driveway.

Once crews were able to get the fire under control they conducted a primary search. No one was found inside the home.

Georgia Power was notified to secure the power and the residence was declared a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and is being handled by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
