50 people were evacuated from a Mt. Airy movie theater following a fire at the front of the building Friday night.
Habersham County Government Public Information Officer Ashlyn Brady said the fire at the Habersham Hills Cinema occurred just after 10:30 p.m. due to neon lighting on the building’s exterior.
Units from Habersham County Emergency Services, Cornelia Fire Department and Clarkesville Fire Department responded to the scene.
Units arrived to find smoke coming from the lighting.
No injuries were reported, according to Brady.
