GAINESVILLE — Habersham Central swept a pair of Area 8-6A matches while Gainesville split in a tri-match at the Gainesville Athletic Center on Tuesday.
The Lady Raiders (13-8, 4-4 Area 8-6A) held off the host Lady Red Elephants (25-21, 15-25, 15-11) in a tight three-set match. They whipped Apalachee 25-13 and 25-14 in their first match of the night.
Meanwhile, the Lady Red Elephants (15-17, 2-4 Area 8-6A) opened strong avenging a region loss from earlier in the season with a 25-14, 25-23 sweep of Apalachee.
Gainesville next will play host to Lanier and North Forsyth next Tuesday in two more crucial Area 8-6A contests.
