The Hall County Commission on Thursday denied a use request that would have allowed for the construction of a 20-lot subdivision off Hardy Road at its intersection with Nancy Creek Road.
Developer Cook Communities was seeking use approval for the 20.74-acre track located on the south side of Hardy Road. District 2 Commissioner Billy Powell initially made a motion to approve the proposed use, but the rest of the commission voted against the motion. The commission then voted unanimously to deny the matter.
If approved, the subdivision would have included a community dock, custom subdivided homes and a single access road. The homes were described as high-end.
Five people spoke in opposition to the use request during a public hearing on the matter, citing traffic concerns, concerns that the developer had allegedly not met with neighbors and more.
