Hundreds turned out for the annual Demorest Glorious Fourth of July Celebration Parade Monday afternoon.
This year, the parade was changed from a morning event to a late-afternoon event, starting at 4:00. Line-up for the parade had to change this year due to ongoing culvert reconstruction on Georgia Street near Loudermilk Field that has the street closed.
More than 60 parade entries made their way past hundreds of spectators who waved, cheered, and collected the hundreds of pounds of candy tossed along the way.
Popular this year were the wolf-shaped cardboard fans distributed by North Georgia Technical College, made to resemble the college's mascot, the Wolves.
Downtown, there were arts and crafts vendors, while closer to Demorest Springs Park were boiled peanuts and other food vendors, in close proximity to the evening's concerts featuring Gregg Erwin and Steve Bryson..
