Free summer meals for families in Gwinnett County

Gwinnett County families will be able to get free meals throughout the summer.

Beginning May 31 through Aug. 2, families can pick up free breakfasts and lunches at 21 different locations throughout the county. Gwinnett County’s Summer Meal Program, sponsored by the county’s Department of Community Services, will offer grab-and-go meals from families with children 18 and under or those 19 and older with a physical or mental impairment.

According to Gwinnett County, meals are available curbside at each of the various locations every Monday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while supplies last. County holidays are also included.

Pickup locations include Buford, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Suwanee and more. To find addresses for each of those locations go to gwinnettcounty.com.

There are no income requirements for families who wish to pick up meals.

The program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and costs a little over $530,000.
