Gwinnett County police search for man accused of Lilburn murder

The Gwinnett County Police Department is searching for a Lilburn man accused of shooting and killing a man at InTown Suites in Lilburn Tuesday morning.
 
Gwinnett County Police conducted a welfare check at the hotel on 4142 Stone Mountain Highway for Denzel Romaine, 30, of Lilburn. Officers found Romaine deceased in his room with a gunshot wound.
 
After gathering evidence from witnesses and possible associates, the Gwinnett County Police Department charged Tariq Strickland, 23. He is accused of aggravated assault, felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
 
Gwinnett Homicide detectives have not determined a motive for the homicide. Strickland’s location is also unknown as of Tuesday afternoon.
