Habersham County names new airport manager

The Habersham County Manager’s Office on Friday named William Regan as the new Habersham County airport manager. Regan will step into his new role in mid-April.
 
He has 13 years of licensed pilot experience and 2,500 total flight hours. Regan has an airline transport pilot certificate and pilot in command privileges for a CL-65 jet.
 
"We are excited to fill this position with someone as knowledgeable as Mr. Regan," County Manager Alicia Vaughn said. "His set of skills is what we hoped to find when we began this process."
 
According to a press release from the Habersham Communication Office, Regan has experience in local government operations. This includes skills in departmental budgeting, resource allocation and customer service. 
 
The incoming airport manager also has 17 years of sworn law enforcement experience and has served in patrol positions to chief of police.
 
He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Sciences from Georgia State University.
 
"He was the most well-rounded of all of the applicants we interviewed; he has a business background and an airport background," Airport Commission Manager Ken Schubring said. "Mr. Regan has great people skills; he is the perfect fit for what we need at our airport."
