Town County's Class A-Public title defense came to an end at Manchester on Wednesday.
The Indians struggled with the Manchester pressure late to fall, 64-45, in the quarterfinals of the Class A-Public state tournament.
"I’m very proud of the boys," coach Brian Hunnicutt said. "They played their guts out. It was a phenomenal season and shocked a lot of people around the area and around the state with the run that we made. I could not be more proud of our seniors for what they’ve accomplished over their careers. They will be greatly missed. They did a lot for Towns County. I’m also extremely proud of Towns County‘s fans. We had tremendous support in the community throughout and had a lot of people show up to the game down in Manchester. This was just an exhilarating ride, and I’m so thankful to God that I was allowed to be a part of it."
The Indians finished the season with a 20-8 record.
