SUGAR HILL — Shiloh outscored Buford in every quarter to pull away for a 54-44 win in the finals of the Region 8-6A Tournament on Saturday at Lanier high School.
The Generals (21-5) led 11-10 after the opening frame and took a slim 22-19 lead into halftime. But they slowly pulled away in the second half. It was just a 39-34 lead heading into the fourth quarter but Shiloh went 11-of-15 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter alone to put the game out of reach.
Buford was just 8-of-13 from the line for the game.
Shiloh’s DJ Leak was 7-of-8 from the line in the final period as part of his 9 points. Seryl Slater had 14 points to lead the Generals and Zaron Jackson added 10 points.
Alahn Sumler paced Buford with 14 points. Malachi Brown had 9 points and Jaylon Taylor 8 for the Wolves.

The Raiders (15-13) rebounded from a tough loss to Buford in the semifinals to capture the No. 3 seed from 8-6A in the upcoming state tournament.
It also avenged a loss to the Bulldoggs last week in their season finale.
