Dekalb Co. detention officer arrested for stealing from Gwinnett Co. Walmart

A DeKalb County detention officer from Lawrenceville was arrested at the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday on shoplifting charges.
 
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jason Sidberry, 38, was fired from his job and was arrested soon after. The sheriff’s office reported that Sidberry is accused of stealing from a Walmart in Gwinnett multiple times.
 
Sidberry was arrested at the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office headquarters while on duty. He had worked at the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office since March and the AJC reported that it was his first position in law enforcement.
 
He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and remains there on a $3,900 bond. Sidberry was charged with four counts of theft by shoplifting.
