Girls basketball: Branch, Chestatee, Lakeview all roll to big wins

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Flowery Branch outscored Commerce 27-5 in the second half to pull away for a 51-22 the non-region win on Saturday at home.

Flowery Branch (7-3) led just 11-8 after the first quarter and 24-17 at halftime. But the Lady Falcons used a 15-5 third quarter to get some separation and held Commerce (2-6) scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Bella Brick led Branch with 13 points. Amyia Scott and Brannen Shiloh each had 9 points for the Lady Falcons.

Flowery Branch next will travel to Dawson County on Monday in their final game before the Lanierland Tournament.

EAST JACKSON 53

The War Eagles used a strong second half performance to the Lady Eagles on Saturday. 

Riley Black turned in a double-double with 26 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Lady War Eagles (7-3). 

It was a back-and-forth first half as the Lady War Eagles led at the break, 28-27, but turned up the pressure defensively in the second half to create separation for the win.  

Addison Boyd had 13 points, Payton Cable had 8 points and 11 rebounds, Caroline Bull had 8 points and Sierra Yarbrough had 7 points and 5 rebounds.

Chestatee will play Forsyth Central on Tuesday at home.


LAKEVIEW 60,
FELLOWSHIP 26

Taliah Gaither scored 21 points and pulled 6 rebounds to lead the Lady Lions past Fellowship Christian on Saturday. 

Jia Thapar had 11 points, Dynesty Putman scored 9 points with 4 rebounds, Kivana Bogne chipped in 7 points with 7 rebounds.

Lakeview plays host to Habersham Central on Tuesday.
