Downtown Toccoa resembled a scene from a Christmas movie Friday night as Main Street Toccoa kicked off the season with its annual ChristmasFest and Courthouse Wonderland.
The event began at 6 with the lighting of the city Christmas tree, then the downtown area was filled with a variety of activities that lasted three hours.
Carolers in period dress strolled the downtown streets serenading shoppers, while visitors had a chance to enjoy carriage rides and rides on the Polar Express.
Santa dropped in for photos, and the Christmas Sage Market featured the works of area crafters.
Toccoa on Ice offered ice skating opportunities that continue weekends through Dec. 31, weather permitting. Cost to skate is $6 per person
Food vendors offered everything from hamburgers to donuts.
And the sounds of Christmas music filled the air, culminating with the Bluegrass sounds of Tugalo Holler from Westminster, S.C., singing Christmas songs and originals.
