Boys basketball: Lakeview's rally falls short, Johnson, Jefferson, Lumpkin lose; WHall wins

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The Lakeview boys basketball team's rally fell short as they fell to Athens Christian, 56-52, on Tuesday.

The Lions were down by 12 in the second half and battled back to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

Justyce Sadler scored 14 points, and Tayden Ware had 13 to lead the Lions.

Lakeview trailed 17-7 after the first quarter and closed the game to eight points, 23-15, by halftime.

It was the second four-point loss to the Eagles in the last two weeks. 

Lakeview (1-3) will play host to Lumpkin County on Thursday. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.


WEST HALL 61,
FANNIN COUNTY 53

The Spartans had three players in double figures in the comeback win over Fannin County in Blue Ridge on Tuesday.

Owen Jenkins led West Hall with 21 points, Andrew Malin had 11, and Isaiah Holder chipped in 10 in the win.

The Spartans trailed 16-13 after the first quarter but rallied in the second to take the lead at the half, 32-29. West Hall outscored Fannin County 29-21 in the second half to win. Game @ Fannin Co. 

Xavier Felix and Zach Stephens had 8 points each for the Spartans. 

Ben Bloch led the Rebels with 27 points. 


LOGANVILLE CHRISTIAN 70,
JOHNSON 36

Andre Hernandez scored 26 points in the Knights' loss to Loganville Christian on Tuesday. 

Devin Larry led Loganville Christian with 21 points, and Drake Kucharik had 12.


ST PIUS X 63,
JEFFERSON 49

Jaden Butts scored 17 points, and Micah Hooper had 13 in the Dragons' loss to St. Pius on Tuesday.


CHESTATEE 65,
LUMPKIN COUNTY 57

Despite Cal Faulkner's game-high 30 points, the Indians fell to Chestatee at home on Tuesday.

Hunter Cooper added 19 points in the loss.
