MT. AIRY, Ga. — Shiloh scored 35 unanswered points to pull away for a 42-9 win over Habersham Central in the Region 8-6A regular-season finale for teams Friday night at Raider Stadium.
Habersham Central (3-7, 1-45 Region 8-6A) got a 1-yard touchdown run from Eathan Martin to tie the game at 7 late in the first quarter. From there, the Generals (5-5, 4-2 Region 8-6A) took control.
Mekhi Phillips scored a pair of short touchdown runs, and then they used big plays in the third quarter -- an 87-yard run from J’Shaun Stroud and a 71-yard interception return for a score to blow it open.
The Raiders were held to just 84 yards rushing, while quarterback Carson Parker was 12-of-20 for 105 yards but threw three interceptions for the game. Zeke Whittington snagged 13 catches for 140 yards but was held out of the end zone.
Shiloh piled up 369 yards of offense, 253 on the ground.
The Generals will be the No. 3 seed from 8-6A in the Class 6A playoffs, which begin next week.
