GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Chestatee closed out its home schedule with a come-from-behind win over Class 5A Winder-Barrow on Wednesday.
The Lady Bulldoggs opened the match taking the first set 25-19. But Chestatee (25-14) roared back behind Valiree Schmus. Schmus paced the offense with 22 kills and 3 aces, and added 13 digs and a solo block on defense.
The Lady War Eagles swept the next three sets -- 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 -- to win the match.
Hannah Farrar had a big match with 13 kills and 4 solo blocks. Kadance Wolfe added 10 kills and 14 digs with 2 aces, and Abbagale Budd had 5 kills for Chestatee.
Abby Allgood paced the offense with 48 assists. She also had 2 aces and 8 digs. Emily Graham led the defense with 17 digs for the Lady War Eagles.
Chestatee will close out the regular season with a quad-match with Stephens County, Habersham Central, and West Hall on Thursday.
