FLOWERY BRANCH — Cherokee Bluff used a 14-5 first quarter to grab a quick lead en route to a 68-46 win over Riverside Military Academy on Saturday at home.
Carlos Marlowe poured in 15 points to lead 10 Bears players in scoring. Logan Holmes added 11 points, Justyce Sadler had 9, and Boston Kearsh 8 for Bluff (11-11).
The Bears extended the lead to 37-17 by halftime but the Eagles (0-14) who are still looking for their first win of the season, cut into the lead, outscoring Bluff 18-14 in the third quarter.
John Akpele paced RMA with a game-high 19 points. Idan Azani added 8 points for the Eagles.
Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday. Bluff will head to Gilmer in a Region 7-3A contest. RMA will play host to Rabun County.
