Pedestrian killed in Duluth hit-and-run

A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle early Thursday morning in Duluth.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a woman was hit and killed on Buford Highway near Duluth.

It appears the woman was walking beside the road when the vehicle hit her. Authorities found her body about 15 yards from the road in a ravine.

The accident closed southbound lanes of Buford Highway near North Berkeley Lake Road around 6:30 a.m. until the scene was cleared a little less than two hours later.
