Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) have arrested a tractor trailer driver for his alleged role in a late-January hit and run crash along an overpass crossing Interstate 85.
Police have arrested 31-year old Christian Barrier of Alabama for fleeing from a serious crash between his tractor trailer and a car entering Venture Parkway along the overpass crossing of Pleasant Hill Road by I-85. Investigators received video imaging evidence and a call from the victim of the silver car struck by Barrier's truck about the accident on January 28, 2025.
Investigators say Barrier allegedly tried to change lanes along the Pleasant Hill Road overpass and struck the car, causing it to spin further into Venture Parkway and pushing it through two more intersections before coming to a stop. Barrier's truck reportedly left the scene after the accident occurred without stopping to check on the crash. The unidentified driver of the car involved was not hurt, according to the GCPD relese.
Barrier is facing charges of Hit and Run, Improper Lane Change, Reckless Driving and Reckless Conduct after turning himself into the Gwinnett County Jail officials on January 31.
