Post-funeral procession scheduled for Hall County School Resource Officer

A post-funeral procession for the body of Chris Bachelor, a former Hall County Sheriff's deputy and School Resource Officer, will follow today's 3 p.m. service at Christ Place Church.

Motorists can expect delays in the area as multiple agencies assist in holding traffic at intersections where the procession will pass, according to information from the Hall County Sheriff's Office. The procession will leave from the church at 3428 Atlanta Highway and end at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

The full procession route includes:

  • Right from the lower entrance of Christ Place Church onto Ga.13/Atlanta Highway
  • Right onto HF Reed Industrial Parkway from Atlanta Highway
  • Right onto Interstate 985 north
  • Right off of Interstate 985 north at Exit 22
  • Right on U.S. 129/Athens Highway
  • Left onto Ga. 323/Gillsville Highway
  • Right onto Holly Springs Road
  • Left onto Lebanon Church Road

Bachelor passed away Wednesday following a battle with COVID-19. He had served with the Hall County Sheriff's Office for 14 years, during which time he worked as a School Resource Officer at Flowery Branch and Friendship elementary schools, as well as C.W. Davis Middle School.
