One Hall County firefighter was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of a minor leg injury and another was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene of a house fire in the northeastern part of the county.

Hall County Fire Services Division Chief Zachary Brackett said the fire was reported early Saturday morning in the 4800 block of J Martin Road.

"The fire was declared under control around 5 a.m.," Brackett said in an email statement.

He said the residence was destroyed in the fire, and one person was displaced as a result. The American Red Cross was called to assist.

Brackett said both firefighters should be okay.

The cause of the fire currently is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office.
