Former Habersham County teacher rearrested for inappropriate relationship with student

A former Habersham County teacher that was arrested a couple of months ago for having an inappropriate relationship with a student was arrested again after contacting the same student, according to a release from the Habersham County Sheriff's Office.

On Tuesday, the Habersham County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division received information that Leslie Terrell violated the terms of her bond by contacting the student again. A follow-up investigation revealed that Terrell has continued to pursue the inappropriate relationship.

The Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office filed a motion for bond revocation as a result, and the court issued an order for arrest pending the bond revocation hearing.

Terrell was arrested again and taken to the Habersham County Detention Center on Thursday.

She now faces the following additional charges:

  • 1 count - Statutory Rape (16-6-3) - FELONY
  • 1 count - Child Molestation (16-6-4) - FELONY
  • 1 count - Enticing a Child (16-6-5) - FELONY
  • 1 count - Sexual Battery (16-6-22.1] - FELONY
