Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators revisit cold case homicide

Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff's Office are re-examining a 2014 cold case homicide, intending to solve the crime and provide much-needed answers.

A family member discovered the body of Holly Fox Strickland, 32, on Feb. 8, 2014, behind her home in Oakwood in the 5500 block of Raintree Trace. She had been shot.

Strickland had been reported missing and was last seen by her family five days before the discovery of her body.

Detectives are re-examining all of the files in the case and are planning to conduct follow-up interviews with everyone surrounding Strickland in hopes of finding any new detail that may provide additional information.

Technology has also improved since 2014, so investigators want to seek out new DNA testing to provide answers and closure for the family.

Derreck Booth with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said they do not consider it a re-investigation, rather a continuing investigation.

"Our investigators continually work these [cases] over the years if they have not come to a resolution," Booth said.

Investigators ask that anyone who has information about Strickland's death or the events leading up to it contact them. Anyone can directly contact Investigator Alford at 770-533-7690 or [email protected]. To remain anonymous, they can call the anonymous tip line at 770-503-3232.
