Girls basketball: Lakeview falls to Fellowship; LCA blows past Trinity Prep

GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview girls basketball fell to Fellowship Christian, 47-35, at home on Thursday.

The Lady Lions were tied with Fellowship at halftime, 20-20, but were outscored 17-5 in the final half to lose the game.

Lakeview was led by Ashlyn Henderson with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Joelle Snyder chipped in 12 points and Sidney Corbin added 9 points. 

Sara Nivens led the Lady Lions in rebounding with eight.

Lakeview will have to wait on a coin toss to determine where they'll play in the first round of the Region 6-A Private tournament. The Lady Lions will play Pinecrest again in the first round.

The Lanier Christian girls continue their onslaught of Region 2-3A competition, blowing past Trinity Prep at home on Thursday.

Lexie Robertson and Mariah Clark led the Lady Lightning with 8 points apiece. Shyla Sheffield contributed 7 and Ashley Avery scored 6 with 6 rebounds. Maegan Nabors chipped in 5 points, and sophomore Camille Hoffman pulled down 7 rebounds.
