Girls basketball: Wiggins, Easterwood lead Chestatee past Branch

GAINESVILLE — Logan Wiggins and Emma Easterwood combined for 36 points to upset Flowery Branch, 57-46, in a makeup Region 8-4A contest on Saturday at the Lynn Cottrell Center. 

Wiggins and Easterwood both scored 19 points, while Bowen Corley chipped in 9 points. 

The loss drops Flowery Branch out of a tie for the No. 2 spot in the region into fourth, behind East Hall and North Oconee. The Lady Falcons play East Hall on Tuesday. If they win, they'll be the No. 3 seed in the region tournament. 

As for the War Eagles, they play Cedar Shoals on Tuesday. If they win, they'll seal up the No. 5 seed in the tournament.
