ATLANTA — The Lakeview Academy boys stayed perfect in Region 6-A Private play after taking a nail-biting 63-62 overtime road win over The Weber School on Wednesday.

Liam Weidner hit a 3-pointer with 10 seconds left to give the Lions (3-2, 2-0 Region 6-A Private) the win. Weidner's shot salvaged the victory after Lakeview had let a 9-point lead heading into the final period slip away. Weber caught the Lions late to tie the game at 54 at the end of regulation.

Lakeview led virtually the entire way holding a 13-12 lead after the first quarter and taking a 19-17 advantage into halftime. The Lions stormed out of the break to run out to a 38-29 lead heading into the final period.

Harrison Cooper poured in 21 points to lead Lakeview. Weidner finished with 16, Isaiah Rico had 15, and Jack Collins 11 points for the Lions.

The win kept the Lions in a tie for second place in the early region standings.

Lakeview next will play host to cross-town rival Riverside Military Academy on Friday at 7 p.m.
