Boys basketball: Jefferson, WHall, Bluff, Branch get wins

ROSWELL — West Hall won the Feast Week Championship title on Tuesday with a 48-42 win over Fellowship Christian on Tuesday at  @ Atlanta International School.

Calvin Norman led the Spartans with 11 points. Owen Jenkins and  
Stephen Clark each had 8 points for West Hall (2-1).


CHEROKEE BLUFF 75,
UNION COUNTY 72

Freshman Tyler Underwood hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left to lift the Bears to a win in their season opener.

It was a foul-marred game as both teams had multiple players foul. It was a back-and-forth affair most of the way with Bluff leading 31-28 at halftime.

Union County was able to keep it close behind a career-high 19 points from freshman Jude Ellis.

Cade Simmons paced Cherokee Bluff with 24 points. Carlos Marlow had 20 for the Bears.


JEFFERSON 82,
WINDER-BARROW 55

The Dragons took home the title in the Jackson-EMC Tipoff Classic tournament on Tuesday.

Jefferson was led by JT Fulkrod with 23 points. Kadin Bailey added 14 and Dalen Gales had 12 for the Dragons..


FLOWERY BRANCH 56,
SONORAVILLE 43

The Falcons held Sonoraville to just 16 second half points in taking a on Tuesday in a tournament at North Murray High School.

It was a close game for the duration of the first half. Sonoraville led 14-13 after the first quarter but the Falcons (3-2) rallied back to take a 29-27 halftime lead. Branch blew the game open with a 17-8 third quarter for a 46-35 lead.

Tyleek Worth poured in 23 points to pace the Falcons. Trey Shaw added 14 points and Jeremiah Ware had 9 for Branch.

The Falcons next will play host to East Jackson next Tuesday.
