OAKWOOD — Chestaee took an early lead and slowly pulled away from Johnson to collect its first win of the season, 66-39, on Thursday on the road.
The War Eagles (1-2) led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter and pushed the lead to 26-17 by halftime. They blew the game open with a 19-7 third quarter run for 45-24 lead.
Hugh Pruitt paced Chestatee with 12 points. Colten Wilbanks added 11 for the War Eagles.
Johnson was led Jake Shaw's 11 points. Jaiden Riley had 9 for the Knights (0-3).
Johnson is off until taking on East Forsyth at home on Nov 30.
Chestatee will take on Dawson County in Dawsonville in the Dawson County Thanksgiving beginning on Saturday.
