FLOWERY BRANCH — In a tale of two halves, Tyleek Worth scored 15 of his 21 points to set Flowery Branch on fire in the second-half 58-52 comeback win over West Hall at home on Tuesday.
The Falcons (1-1) trailed 31-19 at the half, thanks to West Hall's Owen Jenkins' 11-point performance.
In the second half, however, the Falcons used a hot offense and a stingy defense to climb back in the game and take the lead, 41-38, at the end of the third period.
Branch's Trey Shaw, who turned in a 12-point night, and Worth rallied the Falcons with a combined 14 points in the quarter to outpace West Hall, 22-7. The duo also scored 11 of the team's 17 points in the final quarter to seal the game.
Worth finished with 21 points, and Jackson Owens, who was a constant offensive threat, chipped in 14 points.
Jenkins led the Spartans with 18 points.
EAST FORSYTH 75,
JOHNSON 42
East Forsyth held outscored the Knights 44-15 in the first to roll to the 33-point win at home on Tuesday.
Bryce Bracco led the Broncos with 17 points.
Alex Flores scored 11 points and Jake Shaw had 10 to lead Johnson.
NORTH HALL 59,
CHESTATEE 47
Sam Gailey was quiet for a half. Then he woke up.
The North Hall junior guard only had four points at halftime, and his team trailed Chestatee, 23-22. But as shooters do, they never give up, and it's a good thing he didn't.
Gailey scored 20 points -- 12 points from 3-point land -- in the second half to ignite the Trojans to the 12-point win over Chestatee at the Lynn Cottrell Center.
Robert Terry added 11 points, and Luke Sanders had eight.
Colton Wilbanks was a consistent scorer as he led the War Eagles scoring with 22 points. Hugh Pruitt chipped in 11.
