Buford, Jefferson and Rabun County all clinched playoff spots on Friday after another key week around the Northeast Georgia area.
Meanwhile, others like Cherokee Bluff, White County and Banks County moved within one win of clinching spots after big wins on Friday night as well.
Buford routed Lanier, 56-0, in Region 8-6A to clinch a spot, while Jefferson ground down Chestatee, 41-7, in Region 8-4A, and coupled with Flowery Branch's 32-8 win over Madison County, that sealed a spot for the Dragons.
Rabun County bombed Elbert County, 45-7, behind another big game from Gunner Stockton and Jaden Gibson to clinch a spot.
Bluff held off Dawson County, 21-14, in Region 7-3A to move a step closer, as did White County, who pulled away from Lumpkin County in the second half for a 49-13 win on the road. Jackson County stumbled, big-time, against Eastside and severely compromised its playoff hopes in a 42-7 loss in Region 8-5A.
In Region 8 A-Public, Towns County's defense struggled to slow Greene County in a 63-35 loss, and Commerce failed to clinch a playoff spot this week in a 28-19 loss to Social Circle.
In Region 8-2A, Banks County snapped a four-game losing streak with a 67-7 rout over Riverside Military Academy. The win lifts the Leopards to the fourth spot in the region.
In Region 8-3A, East Jackson stayed alive with a 26-0 win over Franklin County to snap a 24-game losing streak in region play.
In Region 8-4A, Flowery Branch won its second straight and climbed into third place with a 32-8 win over Madison County.
In Region 6-7A, Gainesville took a big blow to its playoff chances with a 40-7 loss to West Forsyth on the road.
West Hall’s playoff chances came to an end in a 26-21 loss to Gilmer in Ellijay.
