Lula may be a small city but the city has four public parks for its residents to enjoy, and city officials could create more park space in the future. First, though, elected leaders want some input from city residents.
Lula City Council has scheduled two public meetings this Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Community Depot.
"Our parks are one of our best-kept secrets in Lula," said Mayor Jim Grier. "That's unfortunate because we really need to make sure our citizens know about them and enjoy them."
Grier said he and city council members are hoping people will show up and share their ideas for what amenities and improvements they want in the current park spaces.
"We are looking for ideas the citizens have as far as new uses for our park areas - both our existing facilities as well as any parks we are able to develop in the future," said Grier.
To offer comment, citizens can stop by the Community Depot between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. or between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anyone unable to attend on Thursday may leave written comments at Lula City Hall prior to Oct. 14.
