A Braselton man was arrested by Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators Monday afternoon and charged with aggravated child molestation following an investigation stemming from an April 2020 incident.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Department, an initial investigation determined the crimes happened in 20-year-old Benjamin Joseph Head's vehicle in the female victim's neighborhood the morning of April 8, 2020.

Head reportedly knew the female victim, who was under the age of 16, according to the release.

Authorities first learned of the incident after the victim disclosed it to a counselor, who then reported it to deputies on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2020.

Head was arrested at Sheriff's Office Headquarters Monday, and remained in jail Wednesday morning, according to the press release.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
