Boys basketball: Gainesville rolls past N Forsyth; Towns, White, Lakeview win; Commerce, Lumpkin, Branch lose

CUMMING — Robert Reisman scored 24 points and Eli Pitts had 18 as Gainesville rolled past North Forsyth at Raider Arena on Tuesday. 

The Raiders (4-12, 0-5 Region 6-7A) were going toe-to-toe with the Red Elephants (11-6, 3-2 Region 6-7A) in the opening quarter, even taking the lead 13-12 off a Jackson Olson basket with 2:32 left in the quarter. Olson scored six straight points to lead the rally and ending the period with a Braden Mullis 3-pointer to close the gap 19-16.

But the Red Elephants full-court press forced the Raiders out of their game and allowed Gainesville to slowly pull away in the second quarter, led by Reisman's 8 points in the quarter, Gainesville extended its lead 40-29. 

It was much of the same for Gainesville in the second half. Eli Pitts' steal and dunk early in the third quarter gave the Red Elephants a 46-31 advantage and by the end of the fourth quarter led 55-35. 

Olson led the Raiders with 17 points, while Aiden Kudlas added 14. 


TOWNS COUNTY 79,
COMMERCE 65

Kolby Moss and Kabe Ellis combined for 36 points to lead Towns County past Commerce on Tuesday. Most led the Indians with 19 points, while Ellis added 17. 

Ian McConnell scored 24 points to lead the Tigers in the loss to Towns County. Creed Dunbar and Cayden Lord added 9 points each.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 54,
FELLOWSHIP CHRISTIAN 53

Bodie Blackwell hit the game-winning jumper at the buzzer to lift the Lions past Fellowship Christian on the road Tuesday.

Bodie finished with 8 points, while Declan Weidner led the Lions with 19 points. Christian Haynes added 8 points 

The Lions (9-3, 5-2 Region 6A Private) will play host to Weber on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. 


WHITE COUNTY 66,
LUMPKIN COUNTY 58

Silas Mulligan scored 22 points to lead the Warriors (8-5, 5-1 Region 7-3A) past Lumpkin in a close Region 7-3A game on the road Thursday. 

Gus Faulker paced the Indians (6-8, 2-4 Region 7-3A) with 26 points, while Chandler Pulley had 11. 


CEDAR SHOALS 74,
FLOWERY BRANCH 48

Cedar Shoals outscored the Falcons 37-22 in the first half to set the pace en route to the win on Tuesday at home. 

Kashik Brown led Cedar Shoals with 18 points, while Trevor Gurske paced the Falcons (3-9, 0-5 Region 8-4A) with 12 points. Trey Shaw and Tyleek Worth scored 9 points each in the loss.
