Friends of the Braselton-West Jackson Library to host annual book sale

Members of the Friends of the Braselton-West Jackson Library will host their annual book sale this week in the Braselton Community Room.

The sale will take place on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to Book Sale Coordinator June McRae, the sale will offer books from a variety of genres, including fiction, non-fiction and children’s.

McRae said that event attendees can purchase books in bulk, as well. They can fill a grocery bag with books for $7 or a box for $13. Event organizers will provide the bags and boxes.

She said that the book sale typically brings out a large crowd and she hopes that it will again this year.

“With the COVID situation going on I really don’t know what to expect,” said McRae. “But we usually have a very big turn out every time we have a book sale.”

Proceeds from the sale will go back to the Braselton-West Jackson Library to fund library operations.

“Whatever the library needs is what the money goes towards,” said McRae.

The Braselton Community Room is located on the lower level of the Police and Municipal Court building, 5040 Highway 53.

McRae said that social distancing will be observed during the event and attendees are required to wear masks.
