Demorest water customers on Georgia Street from Oak Avenue south to Piedmont College Circle and on Laurel Avenue from Georgia Street to Florida Street should boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food.
The Demorest Water Department is making emergency water line repairs on Georgia Street, affecting customers in the areas listed previously.
Water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Affected customers in the listed areas or who experience low or no water pressure should continue to boil their water until notified by the city that the water system has been restored to full operation and that the microbiological quality of the water in the system is safe for human consumption.
