A White County man was arrested this week for the online distribution of child pornography.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Billy Rider, 44, faces six counts of sexual exploitation of children for possession of child pornography.
Agents with the GBI's Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit (CEACC) said they began investigating Rider's internet activity after receiving a report from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. NCEMC had reason to believe Rider was sharing child pornography online.
The investigation led to the serving of a search warrant at Rider’s residence in White County where he was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The GBI received assistance in the execution of the search warrant by the GBI’s Cleveland Field Office, the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office and the Cleveland Police Department.
