GAINESVILLE — North Hall picked up its first win of the season Saturday with a 9-0 shutout of rival Chestatee in the North Hall Round Robin tournament.
The Lady Trojans then dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 decision to Lanier in the second game.
In the first game, Sam Rooker belted a first inning three-run home run to get things started and the Lady Trojans (1-3) ended the game in the sixth with three more runs.
Bree Stowers got the win in the circle scattering three hits and striking out five in a complete-game effort.
Kristina Peach had three hits and Kristen Dowdy and Kinsley Kirby each had two hits for North Hall.
Against Lanier, North Hall led 3-2 heading into the seventh but the Lady Longhorns were able to push across two runs in their final at-bat to steal the victory.
Dowdy, Kendal Clackum, and Anna Reeves each had RBI hits in the second game for the Lady Trojans.
Chestatee fell to 1-4 on the season.
