Hall County COVID-19 deaths increase to 9

As of noon Monday, April 20, the coronavirus death total in Georgia surpassed 700, and Hall County deaths increased to nine. 

The Georgia Department of Public Health releases updated statistics each day at noon and 7 p.m.

The Hall County deaths include seven men and two women. Seven of those who died had underlying health conditions that might have contributed to their deaths; in the other two cases, possible contributing health factors were unknown. The Hall County victims ranged in age from 45 to 89. Hall County recorded 649 confirmed COVID-19 cases at noon Monday. 

In counties surrounding Hall, Gwinnett County continued to report the highest number of confirmed cases and deaths - 1,164 and 42, respectively. Forsyth County confirmed seven deaths, while Barrow County confirmed three, Habersham County has two and Dawson and Jackson had one each. 

The total COVID-19 deaths in the state's latest report was 733, which was 3.87% of the total cases confirmed in Georgia.
