Three adults were displaced when a house caught fire Sunday afternoon on Rockwell Church Road in Winder.
Lt. Steven Rose, Public Information Officer for Barrow County Emergency Services, said crews from four stations were called to the scene around 3:15 p.m.
"Initial arriving crews were met by homeowners and told everyone was out of the residence," Rose wrote in a media release. "Heavy fire was seen coming from the roof and second floor."
Rose said a portion of Rockwell Church Rd. was closed for several hours during the operation.
"“There was heavy damage to the structure and contents, but firefighters were able to salvage some photos and personal items belonging to the homeowners and returned the items to them," Rose said.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents of the house.
Rose said fire investigators are working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
