How Hall first responders are protecting themselves from COVID-19

By AccessWDUN Staff

Hall County firefighters and paramedics have developed a way to protect themselves against the COVID 19 virus.

"While the Hall County Fire Services members take every precaution recommended by the CDC and WHO during this pandemic, they have now gone a step beyond," reads a posting on the department's Facebook page.  "The Paramedics have developed a “COVID Cover” to protect themselves from the airborne virus."

The cover is made of plastic and creates a canopy over a patent with known or suspected COVID 19.

"This will help contain and reduce the amount of airborne particulates in the back of the ambulance during transport which will help protect the paramedics from the virus," according to the posting.  "The canopy can be broken down into small pieces and can be easily assembled in a matter of minutes when needed. It’s our hope we all remain safe and practice social distancing as recommended, but our firefighters and paramedics stand ready to serve our citizens in their time of need!"
