Basketball developmental league offered to area's middle school players

By AccessWDUN Staff

Former area high school basketball coach Chad Pittman will hold a developmental league for middle school players, 6th-8th grade, starting this weekend at Chestatee High School.

Pittman's D-League will be held on March 7, 14, 21, 28 and will be divided into two sessions with the girls in the morning followed the boys in the afternoon. It's open to all middle school players from Hall County Schools, Gainesville City Schools, Lakeview Academy, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties and Jefferson.

"I think this will help our area's players," Pittman said. "It'll save them money and, hopefully, help the area's high school coaches."

The girls' session will run from 9 a.m. - noon, and the boys' session will begin at 1 p.m. and finish at 4 p.m. The cost of the camp is $200.

Each date will include a 3-hour workout focusing on:

-- Fundamentals
-- Teach man-to-man defense using shell drill principles
-- Offense – spacing, balance, pick-n-roll, screening, drive and kick
-- Competitive games (players will be divided into teams)

If interested, send Pittman an email to Chadpitt1@gmail.com or call 770-540-6115.
